I don’t care if it takes up 12 gb for just Fleetwood Mac. The album Mirage sounds so much better than any CD or Vinyl. I tested a few friends with a pair of a thrice-washed Earpods with FLAC files, they thought I had a special pair of headphones. The last few generations is seriously losing out on great quality music for iTunes and Youtube music rips....Super sexy Levorg that looks like a Model S Wagon for your time.

I despise when a musical creation is ONLY on YouTube, even when you’re an upstanding pay-not-pirate citizen.

They’re too lazy to make a PayPal page to sell non DRM music file ugh

You know, the more I look at the Levorg, the more I wonder how it would fare using the tried-and-true EJ255 motor?

During daily listening to music (while doing other stuff as well) Spotify’s high quality setting does the job for me. Vinyl gives a crisper sound, and is what I chose if I want to
listen
to and
experience
music. FLAC seems to me like something in between. Superior sound, but clicking a file doesn’t put me in the same mood as putting on a vinyl and look at the cover.
Also, the Levorg doesn’t look like a Model S wagon. Not in real life, at least.

It’s on a Subaru platform, so as long you have a Haltech and wiring diagrams of a STI to work off of, it wouldn’t be that hard.

The rear taillights in this case do look like Model S taillamps. I use Spotify’s extreme quality and it works well with me.

well the japanese are lucky because they get a turbo’d fa20 at 300bhp for their levorg, we get stuck with a pathetic 1.6 113bhp engine

Ah yes the taillights are sort of similar. Read that the extreme quality (which I assume corresponds to high on the desktop version) is similar to 320 kbs mp3. A lot better than youtube (in most cases), but still slightly compressed.

All of my music is stored in FLAC on a 1TB hard drive at home. Then for mobile use, I have all of it converted to 192 OGG and stored on a 64gb sd card in my phone. In terms of quality, 192 OGG is equivalent to 320 MP3 but takes up half the space. Since FLAC is lossless, I can convert to whatever without degrading the quality. Of course the future is definitely to stream music from wherever, but I love having offline music for driving wherever and hiking/skiing to obscure locations. But yes, I definitely love FLAC!

Agree 100% on this. While the ability to listen to whatever we want, whenever we want is awesome, I don’t want little screens and little headphones.
Big HD screens. Large speakers with big woofers. Subwoofers!
Crazy to think that
mass produced
audio quality peaked in the 80's when we had CD’s and real stereos with big amps and big speakers. (We also still had the Concorde and space shuttle back then!) It’s been all downhill since then for your average audio experience.
I’m gonna go downstairs and listen to Steely Dan’s Gaucho on DVD-Audio.

Why not use the EJ255 from the old Legacy GT, then? That, and it saves the headache of obtaining a catch can or having to clean out the intake ports once in a while...

why go for an outdated engine when the new one works good enough if not better? it’s more economical when you are not thrashing it which is always a bonus no matter what the car is

Because it’s an outdated engine that’s stout, tried and true?
I will state that the timing chain in the FA is a nice advantage, but that’s it. And because it’s a direct injection engine, you will need to clean valves and/or install a catch can, plus the added complexity of it all.

if you’re using decent fuel it shouldn’t coke up and not need to clean the valves

... Wut.
You do know how direct injection works, yes? Where it’s injected into the combustion chamber? And not before the valve?
